Recreational and Tourism

The endeavors to have recreational and tourism areas in this district are under the supervision of the government. The recreational areas such as the amenity forest, play ground, beaches and many more require rest areas facilities for people. At the same time as the tourism industry involves the wider purposes and activities that stress the need of interesting places with excellent amenities such as nature sites, an area for shopping spree, historical sites and many more.

There are several recreational areas that have been developed in the area of Kubang Pasu District Council for the benefit of the residents of Kubang Pasu directly and indirectly for outsiders. Among the places that have been developed includes:-

a)Bukit Wang Recreational Forest

Located at the 24 compartment (2,140 acre) of the Reserved Forest of Bukit Perangin and of the widespread of 9.09 hectare. It is also located 12kn from the Town of Jitra or 40km from Alor Setar it can be reached via the road. There are a few distinguishing characteristics of Bukit Wang Recreational Forest including the Tosak River which is 1.5km of length and it has unique rocky surface which is a great area for picnic, the scenic and greenery of flora and fauna, 3km of forest trails crisscross this forest area and another 1.5km connects it with another forest which is the Puncak Janing Forest, the rock wall are suitable for extreme activities, rows of beautiful palm trees and rows of the Permatang Seraya trees which are more than 120cm in diameter which grow naturally.Among the facilities that are provided here are 15 chalets, 16 resting shelter , 3 units of the public toilet, 10 stalls, a swimming pool for children, a concrete bridge, 2.4 kilometer of area for jungle tracking activities, one mussolla and a hall for the tourists or visitor to use.

b)Kerbau Cave, Kodiang

It is situated at the foot hill of Bukit Kepalu and is among the potential gave to be developed. It has a spread of about 5.33 hactare. The District of Kubang Pasu Drainage and Irrigation Department is responsible to develop a few facilities such as to provide sitting area for the visitors and to beautify the nearby areas.
